Alert to all clients:
We have received a call today from a concerned pet owner who’s pet has gone missing. After making a social media post regarding her cat going missing, the lady received a telephone call, apparently from the RSPCA, informing her that the cat was on our premises and that she needed to pay the RSPCA a fee to be reunited with the cat. We did not have the cat here, nor had we taken in a cat matching the missing kitty’s description and it is likely that this poor lady has been scammed out of her money.
Please know that if your pet goes missing, if he/she is microchipped you will be contacted by an authorised professional body (Vets, Dog Warden, RSPCA) directly and not via social media posts. If your pet is not microchipped, you can still report them as lost to all of the local vets who keep a log of missing or found pets and cross check them against each other
Please do not make payments over the telephone to people who have contacted you via or as a result of social media posts claiming to be agents of a veterinary practice or other professional body.
